The Climate and Sediment focus area includes all technical aspects ofhow sediment yields and stream geomorphology may be impacted byclimate change. For example, climate change may lead to more severedroughts and floods. Droughts tend to stress vegetation which may leadto wildfire, soil and streambank erosion, and increased sediment yields. Changes in sediment yields and flood frequency likely lead to changes instream geomorphology.
