2019 Flood Impacts On The Lower Missouri River

The Missouri River in Kansas City has experienced dramatic degradation over the past 30 years, which has lead to over 100 million dollars in damages. Previous analyses have indicated that degradation during flood periods is dominated by floodplain deposition and degradation in-between flood periods is dominated by commercial channel mining. In 2019, the Missouri River experienced a large flood, followed by two years of relatively low flows. This poster will present the analysis of cross sections before, during, and after the 2019 flood.
